BIG things on my palm

Question
QUESTION: Hi,  I have these huge banana-like pods on my palm..and when they open they look like yellow cauliflower.  What are they?   thank you for your time/MArie

ANSWER: Hi Marie, It sounds like you have a Queen Palm, but it could be one of many that procreate in this manner; the pod opens to an inflorescence which in turn becomes a seed pod. The seeds eventually shed, hence procreation. Most people trim them off at the inflorescent stage, because it is easier to handle, once the seeds form , they can still be pruned but the chore is more difficult because of the weight. Nick

QUESTION: Can another plant grow from these seeds?  If so, please inform the proper procedure.  Thank you for your time   MAB

Answer
Yes, but you have to wait until they fall from the pod on their own accord, what will happen is a flowery mass will open from the pod, which will eventually turn into small seeds, which in turn will get bigger and eventually turn color and fall of the stem, it is at this stage that they can be planted for eventual germination to take place.
