Question
Because of the first frost, we brought our palm plants indoors. My husband re-potted them in a 14' pot. We don,t use tap water.and because they are outdoors, they get  lot a rain. and are growing nicely. However they have a really bad odor. What is that coming from?

How old are the palm plants? Where do you live? What size was the old pot that you took them out of?  Without knowing the type of palm I don't know if it is the plant or perhaps an animal (cat) has deficated in the soil? Or it may be overwaterd and the roots could be rotting?  What type of odor is it? When some palms bloom the flowers are not showy but have sickeningly sweet odors. Those are my only thoughts without having more information. Good luck.
