Queen Palm Seed Pod

Question
How often does the Queen Palm form the large seed pod.  Last spring in Florida was the first time I saw it on my tree.  It was so beautiful.  Do the pods form every year?

Answer
Hi Pat, yes once the palm has matured, it will send out an inflorescence (pod..flower..seed) every year and often more then one; you may find the "beauty" less appealing once you have to trim them off..lol. It is less messy if you cut them off when they are at the pod stage,,the flowers will attract hundreds of bees and if allowed to traverse to the seed stage, will shed and make a real mess at the bottom of the palm.
