Rain Dial Question

Question
QUESTION: HI
I have a rain dial RD-600,  I have two stations one for bushes =A-1 and the other for trees = B-2 could you tell me how to set the  today & skip days for
A-1 to water every other day  and  B-2 to water every second day  Thank you very much Stan
every one has been telling me differene ways

ANSWER: Hey Stan, I hope this helps. First of all, I'm a little confused on your question. When you say "water every other day" and "water every second day" to me that means the same thing. Well let me start with A-1 to water every other day. With the top switch in the A position, turn the dial down to the skip day function. Now with the plus and minus buttons hit plus or minus until it reads 2. Now A-1 will run every other day or every second day. Now to tell what day it is going to water on, turn the dial back to today. When you hit the plus or minus button, it will either say 1 or 2 (since your in a 2 day skip mode). Now if you want it to water today, hit the plus or minus buttons, until it says 2. When the today window shows 2 that is the day it waters on. If the today window says 1, then it would water tomorrow (tomorrow the clock will change to today as 2). Now if you are asking me for A-1 to water every other day and B-2 every other day (every second day), but not on the same day. Then when you set B-2 to skip day and put the display to 2( for every other day or every second day), if A-1 says the today function as 1(to water the next day), then set B-2 today function to 2( to water today). This way they will both water every other (or second day) but one will come on one day, and the other will run the next day. I'm not sure if this is what you're asking for? Let me know if you have more information or if I can help you anymore. Thanks and have a great day.

Answer
Hey Stan, sorry this took so long. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to try to explain step by step what to do.Put the bottom switch to "set program". Put the A,B,C switch to A. Turn the dial to station #1 on valve run times. Set the amount of time you want your bushes to run. Now turn the dial to station #2 on valve run times. You want to turn this time to "off". Likewise go through the rest of the valve run times 3,4,etc. and turn them to "off". Now turn the dial to skip days and set it to 2 (every second day or every other day). Now go to start time #1 and set a start time in, lets say 7:00am. Now go to start time #2 and set it to off (to do this go to 12:00am and hit the negative button) also go to start time #3 and turn it to off. So far you have set station #1(bushes) for x amount of time to run every second day at 7:00am. Now put the switch to B. Turn the dial to station #1, and turn this time to "off". Now put the dial to station #2 and set this for the amount of time you want it to run. Likewise go through the rest of the valve run times 3,4, etc and turn them to "off". Now turn the dial to skip days and set it to 3 ( every third day). Now go to start time #1 and set a start time in, lets say 8:00am.(you want to stagger your start times from program A, so it starts after program A stops running). Now go to start time #2 and turn it to off. Now go to start time #3 and turn it "off". Now you have set station #2 (trees) for x amount of time to run every third day at 8:00am. Now turn the switch to C. Go through each of the station run times and set them each to "off" (we're doing this to make sure nothing is programmed in program C). Now if you put the switch back to A, and turn the dial to "today" it will either say 1 or 2( since it's running every second day). If you want it to start watering tomorrow, have today say 1. If you want it to run today and skip tomorrow, have it say 2. Now put the switch to B and put the dial to "today", it will say either 1,2 or 3. If you want it to start watering tomorrow, have today say 2. If you want it to start today, have it say 3. If you want it to skip 2 days(today and tomorrow) set it to 1. Now put the bottom switch to run/manual position. The top A,B,C switch can be in any position and it will still run all the programs. When you put the controller in skip day mode, when you turn the dial from Monday through Sunday, all these days will show ---, this is correct. Lets say you have both the programs starting tomorrow(Wed.) Bushes should water Wed., Fri., Sun., Tues.(the following week),Thurs., Sat.,Mon., Wed.(and then repeat). The trees should water Wed., Sat. Tues. Fri.(the following week) Mon., Thurs. ,Sun., Wed.( and then repeat). Stan I hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions, thanks and have a great day.
