Rain Dial 900 Programming

Question
I want to set my front and back yards on separate programs. I now have them all set on Program A and all works well. I want to split them to A=front and B=back. I tried setting the backyard valves (run time/start time/days) with the Program dial in the B position - and leaving the A position as is with the front yard valves. However, when I checked the B program did not function. I'm sure I'm just making some programming mistake but can't figure it out. I've not had a problem changing or setting any of the Program A functions over the years - is the only one I've used so far. Just can't figure out how to program and automatically run a Program B. thanks for your help.

Answer
Hey Judith, I am going to try to explain this the best I can. Basically you will first put the switch on the bottom to "set programs" and the program switch to program "A". Now lets say you have #1, #2 ,and #3 as the front yard zones, and #4, #5 and #6 the back yard zones. With the program switch on "A", put time in zone #1, zone #2 and zone #3, but turn the time on #4, #5 and #6 to "off" on program A. Now with the switch still on "A" put in the days you want to water for the front yard, and a start time for the front yard. Now put the program switch to "B", and turn zone #1, #2 and #3 to "off" and put time on zone #4, #5, and #6. Also with the switch still on "B" set the days you want to water, and put in a start time. The only thing we usually do, is stagger the start times from what program A is set to and what program B is set to. For instance, lets say you put in a start time in program A at 8:00am, and you have 10 minutes set each for #1, #2 and #3 so it will run for 30 minutes and be done at 8:30 am. Make sure that program B (in case they run on the same days) is set to start after 8:30am, lets say just make it 9:00 am. Now when you are done programming, put the switch over to "run" and the dial up to "current time". It now does not matter where the program switch is set, It could be on "A", "B" or "C". and it will run all 3 programs, the program switch A, B or C position only matters when you are setting a program, or using the "semi auto" button. Good luck and have a great day.
