Rain dial controller cant be programed

Question
I have a rain dial controller on my house sprinkler system and it cant be programed. I used to be able to program it but it just stopped and the timmer and on and off times cant be ultered. It is under 3 years old and i am not sure what action to take. Are you able to assist me in this problem. Much thanks for your time . Ian Campbell

Answer
Hey Ian, the first thing I would suggest, would be to take the 9 volt battery out of the unit, and then power off the controller for about 1 minute. Then with the battery "not" installed, try powering the unit back up, and see if you can program it. If you are still having problems, the panel itself can be removed from the case, and you can replace just the panel, and not the whole controller. Also up in the battery case area, you should see a date code, if it is less than a couple years old, you should get a free replacement. Take it to any irrigation supply store. They also may be able to repair the panel, instead of you having to buy a new panel. Good luck and have a great day.
