carnations wont bloom!

Question
Hello.  I have two carnation plants in pots on my balcony.  They are each covered with flower buds that are brown, dry & feel empty.  What should I do?

Answer
First check the soil. That is where most problems of this type start. I have not seen how you have been caring for the plants, but, from the sound of it, they have either been over watered or under watered.
If they are dry, take them out of the sun, and give them some cool shade. Thoroughly water them. Maybe dunk them in a water bucket, until they stop bubbling. Keep them cool for about a week. Then put them back in the sun. Check them every day, but don't water them until they look like they need it. Don't fertilize them.
If they are too wet, don't water them. Let them dry a bit in-between watering.
