Sowbugs

Question
Hello,
i have a mega big problem with woodlice as we call them here in germany, i think everybody refers to them as sowbugs or pillbugs ?
i have a littel house bordering on a little forest and am seemingly infested , not just in the garden but in ,on and around my house as well with sow bugs.. They come in upstairs , downstairs and through the basement as well , they climb the wall come in under the front door and through the tiniest littel gaps under the windows.
I磛fe removed as well as i could from outside laying debris such as dead wood, old bricks etc.. ive tried just about every inceticed spray onthe market but the littel critters just keep coming back .
I磀 say on  a average day i remove up to 20 sow bugs from inside my house , the garage and bike shed i磛e given up  removing them , they come and go as they please
I would be very grateful of any advise
thanks

Answer
Simon, in order to control these bugs, they must be killed at the source, which is outside. You must also take the necessary precautions to seal any cracks in the foundation of your home to prevent them from coming in.

Pillbugs hide under decaying plant matter and in the soil. Normally, pillbugs (also known as sowbugs) do little damage to plants. but they can definitely be a nuisance. You can control them by spraying the soil around the house with 1 tbs. lemon ammonia mixed with 1 tbs. liquid dish soap to one gallon of water. This combination will not harm your plants or lawn, but destroys insects by attacking their digestive and nervous systems.

As a last resort, you can spray the area with a pyrethrum/rotenone solution. These are organic insecticides which are non-toxic to humans and pets. They can be purchased separately or as a combined solution at any reputable nursery or garden center.

Finally, attached is a link to Planet Natural, a company that specializes in organic solutions against every pest imaginable. My advice is to read the article and take whatever actions you feel best fit your situation.
