soil?

Question
hi dear expert,
I have 2 flowers from last year, a tulip and a daffodil, this year both grow again in their vase.when they were about 1.5 inch I decided to replace their soil with new soils and i mixed up garden soil with animal manure and replaced the soils.I water them about every 2 days and placed them in hall which its temperature was about 24'C . but after 1 week i find that the plants don't grow, after 2 weeks no grow has been seen. I don't know why!! can u solve this problem plz?

Answer
Hi Amir, Both tulips and daffodils need dormancy (chilling) to re-bloom.  If the bulbs were firm when you replanted, they should sprout some growth but probably not bloom, and they need to be in full sun.  If they were soft, they're dead.
Both of these bulbs would be happier in the ground, so I'd find a place outside to plant them.  If you live in an area with mild winters, they may not come back yearly, so I'd treat them as annuals and plant new bulbs each year.  Jim
