Robilini Palm frozen

Question
I have a three trunk Robilini that is 12 years old ( 10 feet in height) and has been frozen 2 years in a row. What would happen if I trimmed it back to below the lowest set of fronds? The entire frond part of the plant is browned. Would it come back with new fronds or what that kill it?

Answer
Hi Annie, No, you can't top a Palm, its a death sentence, for you will be excising the very area that new growth emerges; you need to prune off the totally brown fronds, and leave any that have green still showing. New growth will eventually emerge from the center of the crown (where you inquiring about severing..# If your Palm is a dual or triple ,then you can remove the damaged one if you want, but you would sever it at soil level, for the other two #or one.) will carry on; but if it is a single specimen, then you need to just prune it as I mentioned.
