Sick foxtail palm

Question
I have 2 foxtails that I purchased and had professionally planted about 4 years ago.  I'm in the Orlando area.  We had a hard freeze a year ago and while one is just fine, the other hasn't grown new fronds in the (almost) year sinze the freeze.  A couple of fronds were already fully opened, but they've turned brown and fallen off, as expected.  The top of the tree is still bright green, as is the healthy one.  Is there any way to save this tree or is it a lost cause?

Answer
Hi Katrina, if its been that long, and no new fronds have emerged, then I fear that it will not recover; it is getting into the cold season again, and without fronds to sustain it, it will assuredly get finished off with the first cold snap we get. I am not going to tell you to take it out, but it looks grim, and except for proper irrigation, there really isn't anything you can do for a cold stressed Palm except take a wait and see approach. Nick
