Question
i have a 6 foot areca palm in my yard.  i've read they can grow up to 20 feet tall.  as it gets taller can i trim it's height to keep it from getting too big?

Hey Jeff, yes but you need to do it correctly so as not to ruin its tropical flare; don't just cut the tops of the fronds, you need to remove entire fronds back to the trunk to maintain its look. As your Areca grows, certain fronds will be taller then others, these are the ones to remove to keep its height down. Nick
