Dusty Millers

Question
My dusty millers have gotten huge and I want to trim them, and seperate them to plant in other areas of my garden.  I have a brown thumb, so is there anything special that I need to know or do?

Answer
i'm in southern NJ. here they are considered an annual but will come back easily if in a protected area or the winters aren't too harsh. this year we had a long cold winter but most of the ones i planted last year did survive.
when trimming prune back half way or more leaving some leaves below the pruning cut. they will easily put off new growth when warm weather arrives. sprinkle some granular flower fertilizer(i like plantone by espoma) around the ground underneath them. if they have multi-trunks dig a portion out w/some roots attached to it. plant them ASAP in another location. water them in well.
good luck
