invasive wisteria

Question
how can i organically or environmentally safe, kill wisteria sprouts, I dont want to kill the plant itself, i just do not want it to spread, ive dug them up and they just keep coming back.
I doubt vineger would be strong enough, would it would if i cover them with a bucket or black plastic? they are not in the sun so they wouldnt heat up much.

Answer
After you dig up the unwanted shoots, I would dig a trench and line it with 12 inch roof flashing deep into the trench around the plant.....the shoots should not be able to go thru that....other wise, just keep digging them out.... you could cover it with black plastic, and pull it back every so often to pull out the shoots...at least they would be easier to control that way.  Vinegar will kill them...you could try pouring vinegar into the same trench as the metal....the ground will become too acidic for them to grow....I think I would lay black plastic down around the plant for 6 feet or more and cover it with dirt...see what happens....
