RD-900 wont turn on

Question
Hi Guillermo.  I have 11 year old RD 900.  I notice yesterday that it was flashing off so I figured it was a power surge and reset the clock.  It has been extremely hot here and the grass looked as if it had not been watered so I looked closer today at the controller.  The time was still showing the correct time but was dim and "pulsing" as the seconds ticked away. I tried to manually run cycle one but it would not come on. I tried to run cycle two and it would start to come on and immediately shut down.  I replaced the battery and the clock looked and functioned normal again (not dim or pulsing), but, the cycles still would not manually turn on.  I tried to reset the auto-cycle timer to see if it would come on that way too.  It still did not work.  Please help! It's 100+ and I don't want to lose all the lawn, flowers and plants!  Thanks

Answer
Hi Chris,

Make sure you have AC power coming to the controller, check the fuse. Shut down the power, take out the battery, wait a couple of minutes,  install the battery and reconnect the power. Also try resetting the controller to factory defaults:
To restore factory default settings: 1.Place the Function switch in the Set Programsposition. 2.Place the Programswitch to select B. 3.With AC power connected, carefully disconnect the control module ribbon cable from the PC Board socket. 4.Open the battery compartment and disconnect the battery. 5.Press and hold the Manualbutton in. 6.Reconnect the ribbon cable, then release the Manualbutton. Note:The display should now show 12:00 AM.If it does not, repeat the procedure as necessary. 7.Reinstall the battery. 29 8.Reprogram the controller

You can call 18006348873 In case the problem persists.

Regards
Guillermo
