wisteria pods

Question
I have the pods that were taken off the tree they are still green can I dry them out and how. Thank you for your help

Answer
Hi Eleanor,
Thanx for your question.  In general, you should not remove pods or green seeds from the mother plant as they will not have had a chance to completely mature.  Mostly likely, the immature embryos will die and fail to produce when planted.  Allow the seed pods to dry on the plant and as the pod starts to open, collect the seed and store in a dry, clean glass jar and seal.  Store in cool, dark, dry place until spring planting.  You can allow the pods to dry out and if the seeds don't shrivel, they MAY be viable.  I hope this helps.
Tom
