Datura Pods

Question
I will be moving in about 2 weeks. I will be moving 50 miles from where I am now. I have the most gorgeous Daturas that survived a flash flood last month and have grown to be spectacular. There are tons of pods. I have covered a bunch of them with the toes from panty hose to catch the seeds. The pods are really big. Would it be alright to cut the biggest ones off and take them with me even though they are still green and haven't split yet??? I really don't want to leave them behind.

Answer
Hi Pat,
Thanx for your question.  If the pods on the datura are still green there is too much of a chance that the seeds have not completely matured and will not germinate.  Do you have a neighbor or friend in the local area who could check on the seed pods and then mail the seeds to you when the pod turns brown?  I hope this helps.
Tom
