weeds

Question
I don't know if you can answer this question but here goes. Every spring we weedwack the hill behind our house to satisfy fire dept. access. Generally we spray the weeds a few weeks before the wacking in order to dry them up and make it easier for wacking. I was wondering whether this truly makes it easier, whether the weedwacking would go just fine whether we spray or not. We use an Echo weedwacker with the two 8" heavy plastic strings coming out. Thanks.

Answer
Hi David, Dry grass is less likely to bog down your string trimmer and is easier to cut. It's also safer for you on a slope, you are much less likely to slip on dry grass versus wet. However with a good trimmer, you may not notice much difference other than (in theory) you should use more line cutting dry grass.  Jim
