Florida plants that got frost bite

Question
How should I treat the:
Oleander
Bouganvillia
Robilini (sp?)
and similar plants that got badly bitten by the 19 degree freeze we had in The Villages, Florida?

Answer
Hi Pat, a common question coming to me and with good reason, people want their beautiful plants back, and this will happen, but its going to take time and patience; give it another couple of weeks and then you will begin to notice new growth. As new growth develops you will then be able to decipher the live sections from the dead areas; it is at this time that you should prune off the dead wood, the leaves will fall off on their own, so just be a little patient and wait and watch, in the mean time, water them as usual so that they can take up nutrients and heal themselves.
