Question

Question
I want to know what tropical plants I could get if I grow them in a south facing window well.

Answer
Hi Jacob,

I'm assuming that you live in the northern hemisphere.  If you live in the southern hemisphere, please write back and let me know because this will certainly change my answer.

Almost any tropical carnivorous plant will grow fine in a south window.  Here are a few plants that are great for first-time growers:
Nepenthes sanguinea
Nepenthes truncata
Nepenthes ventricosa
Drosera adelae
Drosera capensis
Drosera prolifera
Drosera biniata dichotoma
Drosera spatulata
Pinguicula moranensis

This list is by no means exclusive, but it is a good place to start, especially if you are new to growing carnivorous plants.  For more information about plant selection for your window, use the "Best Plants For You" feature on our main website:
http://www.cobraplant.com

When you click on the link to use the feature, just answer a few short questions about your growing condition and you'll get a list of plants that are best suited for your home and are perfect for first-time growers.

Good growing!
Jacob Farin
