Marigolds

Question
Hi.  Can you please tell me if I can plant my regular marigolds w/my marigold inca ll in the same pot?
Thank You!

Answer
Hello Vikki,

As you will appreciate yours is a gardening question not house plants, however, having said that I can't imagine there is any reason why you can't, if you wish, plant both marigolds in the same pot.  But remember that aesthetically it may not be a good idea since your Inca plants will grow tall and the regular ones remain small so it might look a bit odd!  Also the bigger plants may require more water and therefore the regular plants may be swamped.   But, what the heck, rules are there to be broken, so give it a go and send me a photo!!

Hello again Vikki,

I'm glad that my answer was of use to you and there is no need to feel stupid.  I am however, surprised and saddened that you should think my reply merits such a low rating on knowledge and politeness - were you offended by my joking I wonder?  And I am sure having realised that I am not a gardening expert I cannot be expected to know that subject in detail but I did my best to give you some commonsense advice.  Perhaps you don't know this but experts at this site are volunteers i.e. we don't get paid but answer questions because we love the subject.

Notwithstanding I really hope your flowers do well - your question actually prompted me to buy some marigolds yesterday when I went to a local garden centre - they are such a cheerful looking flower aren't they?  All the best.

Diana
