mussaenda

Question
I have a mussaenda that is being killed by some kind of tan colored egg(??)  it is sucking the life out of it..  They are light brown  little eggs about the size of a pin head and there are hundreds of them...  What is it and how do I get rid of them before they kill my plant??   Help please... Will Organicide    (sp??)work?

Thank you for your time !!

Sincerely,
Arlene Hood

Answer
It sounds like Aphids, and they will suck the life out of a plant, Organocide will work, but Utra Fine Horticultural Oil is better; spray the undersides of the leaves thoroughly and let it work overnight, the next morning, wash of any residual oil along with the dead insects. The reason for this, is you don't want the oil on the leaf tissue during the heat of day, for it will amplify the Suns rays and could damage the tissue.
