peas

Question

peas
I have a small hydroponic garden using auto-pot technology. My snow peas were producing really well and then the plant started to die off. The temp here has been in the high 30oc for the last week, I am in victoria australia. Will this high temp affect peas or should I be looking at other causes?I have attached two images hoping they are both there.
Thank you for your time.

Wayne:
The leaves look a bit hungry, however this symptom can be caused by several things- usually related to the roots/soil.  I you have an affected plant you can sacrifice, cut into the main roots near the crown and look for dark brown/black discoloration- if present, this may be a root disease.  If you have many plants, are they all doing this? if so, then the temp may be an issue.  Just be sure they are getting appropriate water to the roots and look over for insects/spider mites( these critters are very small and can be an issue in hot weather. Check under the leaf for small (1-2mm dia)critters.  They can produce webbing on the petioles also.

Hope this helps!

Steve
