temperature for highland nepenthes

Question
I have a little shade greenhouse that I would like to use for highland nepenthes. In summer the temperatures go up to 96-100 degrees F. Is there any type of or somthing to cool down the greenhoues without lowering the humidity? I live in Southern California

Answer
Hi Jacobo,

What you need is a swamp cooler (Evaporative cooler).  They come in all shapes and sizes, so you'll just need to do a web search to find one that will work for your situtaion.  Swamp coolers work by pumping water over an Aspen bed or other material while a fan pulls air through it.  They work very well in hot dry climates since they increase the humidity.  Here's some examples: http://www.air-n-water.com/swamp-coolers-evaporative.htm?size=-1

Good Growing!
