Cala-lilies

Question
Hi,
Do you know anything about cali-lilies?

Answer
Hi Sarah,
Thanx for your question.  Calla lillies are hardy to zone 7 so they don't tolerate much frost.  They come in all kinds of different colors.  Don't let them dry out.  Keep the soil evenly moist but not soggy.  They will do well in partial shade and in full sun.  If you have hard frosts, you should dig up the corms in the fall after the first frost kills off the foliage and turns it black.  Store the corms in a cool, dark, dry basement where it will not freeze but won't be too warm either.  You can also plant them in containers and grow them as container plants bringing the containers indoors after it gets cold.  Calla lilies tend to be a bit pricey so if you buy some, take good care of your investment.  I hope this helps.
Tom
