Star Jasman

Question
I have a star jasmine tall hedge. Can I propagate this to make more plants by cuttings.  (explain how if possible)
Thank you

Answer
Hi David,
Thanx for your question.  Take softwood/green wood cuttings, 6-8 inches long in the early summer and strip off all of the leaves except for the last 2 or 3.  Dip the cuttings in a rooting hormone like Rootone and stick the cuttings in a container of wet, warm sand.  Seal the container inside clear plastic and mist twice a day keeping the sand and environment warm (75-80 degrees F).  Rooting should occur within 8 weeks or so.  You can check periodically by probing gently with a pencil.  Also, new leaf growth will indicate root growth.  I hope this helps.
Tom
