Propagating from Cuttings

Question
I recently took a few cuttings of petunias a few weeks ago which have now rooted. In your experience do such cutting flower quicker than growing plants from seed?

Answer
Peter, since most seeds take between 12 and 21 days to germinate, there is no question that cuttings grow faster than those plants grown from seed. Once the seedling roots, it grows relatively quickly. In most cases, there is a 4 to 6 week time advantage when propagating from cuttings.

I hope this answered your question. Please write again if I can ever be of assistance.

Regards,

Mike
