IDENTIFICATION OF A HOUSE PLANT

Question
I have been given a house plant and the owner of the parent plant has been unable to find out its name. The nearest thing I can find in plant books is peperomia argyreia. The shape of the leaves is similar, with the stem coming out,off centre. It has smooth, flat, shinish, dark green leaves(looks like miniture water lilies').
It seems easy to propagate as it sends up plantlets around the parent plant ready rooted.Mature plant has one woody main stem with small leaf bracts.
      thanking you in anticipation

Answer
Hi Chris,

It is hard to tell from your descripton just what you have. If you can e-mail a photo to me at the address below, then I can provide a positive ID.

There are hundreds of different Peperomia species and many of them would seem to fit the decription you provided, including P. obtusifolia, P. glabella, P. verschaffeltii, and P. velutina.

If you cannot send me a photo, let me know very specifically just how your plant differs from any of the ones I listed.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
