House plant identification

Question
In Brooksville, Florida about 40 miles north of Tampa.  The climate is hot and humid.  I have a plant that I thought was called a thai plant - for good luck.  I need to know how to care for this plant.  Looks like miniature bamboo.

i am in southern NJ. i did live in new port richey area(holiday), FL back in 1995-1996.  i rented a house in the development behind the mcdonalds on 19.
the plant you have is called lucky bamboo.  it is not really a bamboo plant even though it looks like twisted bamboo. it is very easy to take care of.  keep it constantly wet... do not let it go dry.  they have to be sitting in water.  incidentally that would kill most other plants.  they do better in filtered lite areas(they don't need any direct lite--just a bright room).
not much else to know about it. my wife bought one at the mall and we have had it for over 5 years now. she just adds water every now and then to keep it sitting in water.
good luck
rick
