Fern identification

Question
Hi Will,

Will you please identify two ferns I purchased today? One has delicate, lacy fronds; the other's fronds are sturdier and wavy. Photos are on the way.

Thank you!
Mar

Answer
Hi Mar,

Been shopping again, eh?

Thanks for the photos. Both are lovely plants. The first fern (the sturdier one) is either a Bird's nest fern (Asplenium nidus) or a Hart's Tongue Fern (Asplenium scolopendrium) or maybe a cross of the two.

The second lacy fern is one of the asparagus ferns - Protoasparagus plumosis. It is also frequently listed as Asparagus setaceous, which is how it was previously categorized.

Please let me know if any of this is unclear or if you have any additional questions.
