I assume the boxed pear I mailed you two weeks ago arrived without damage.  Were you able to identify its variety, please?

Hi Mike,
Thanx for sending the pear.  I am going to try to grow the seeds.  I also tasted it and it seems to have a very nice flavor.  I did a search on the web and found this site:

The site is called The Pears of New York - Historic Pear Images.  I thought you might want to look at it and see what you think it might be.

I narrowed it down to Summer de Congress, Onondaga, Beurre Superfin, Clappe Favorite, Dearborn, Howell, Lincoln and Passe Colmar.  I especially thought it looked like Summer de Congress.  Well, I hope this helps and thanks for sending the pear.  I have developed an interest in heirloom garden vegetables and antique fruit over the past few years.
