Will ants do any damage to Sarracenia? I have a small colony that just moved into my sarracenia pot. Will neem kill these guys? If not, what will? Thanks, Eric

Hi Eric,

Most ants won't harm the plants directly, but they often farm aphids and scale insect.  They are perfectly happy to help spread them.

Neem should be effective.  Depending on the species, Boric Acid bait stations are often very effective.  Here's an example:  http://www.amazon.com/Ant-Killer-Terro-Liquid-Baits/dp/B001HWZ85M

Are these Fire Ants by any chance?  You'd probably have gotten stung if they were.
