Sarracenia & Darlingtonia

Question
I keep most of my Sarracenia in one bog pot. However, I have one big one that won't fit in there, so I'm wondering if there is an appropriate soil mixture that would allow me to pot it in with my Darlingtonia. Right now my Darlingtonia are quite small, so space wouldn't really be an issue for them for a few years.

Thanks!

Answer
Whenever planting two different varieties of plants together, always care for the plants according to the most temperamental of the two.   Sarracenia is much more adaptable than Darlingtonia, so I'd recommend using the appropriate Darlingtonia mix.  Sarracenia will grow just fine in Darlingtonia soil mix, but Darlingtonia may or may not grow fine in Sarracenia soil mix.  (The ability for Darlingtonia to adapt to Sarracenia soil mix will depend mostly on your overall microclimate.)

For information on an appropriate soil mix for Darlingtonia, read our care sheet on our main website.
