Ants!!!!

Question
I live in Winter Haven Fl, which is direct central Florida.  I have an open lot next to me that is open pasture.  My lot is infested with small ants.  I have St. Augustine grass and use Scott's mulch.  I've put down countless products Such as ANDRO,Scotts, Terminex, and soo on and still have millions of ants outside my property.  I have thousands and thousands of ants in my flower beds, around my pool, and on every plant.  I've had agencies that are competent in killing ants and no luck!!!!  HELP!

Answer
Hi Clay, If these are fire ants, my recommendation would be treat the area with Amdro in the spring and fall and spot treat mounds with 75% Acephate powder.  For other ants, treat your yard (especially the perimeter next to the field) with permethrin (good) or bifenthrin (better).
Ant's on plants are often a sign of other problems like scale insects or aphids.  Ants feed on the honeydew secreted by these insects, so use an appropriate insecticide on your trees and shrubs as well.
You may need to apply every 30 days or so, check the label and watch for ants.  Jim
