snowball bush and mock orange

Question
Snow ball bush: Am I able to separate with a shovel a piece of the bush to transplant elsewhere in my yard?

Mock orange: Had the first flowers in three years. Fragrant, lovely! How do I encourage more blooms on this beautiful bush next year?

Answer
Transplant or move plants only in the winter time while they are dormant.  If you try to separate it now your success will not be very good.  Do this during December thru February.

Provide the mock orange with a phosphorus containing fertilizer such as super bloom or multi-bloom.  Flowering plants need phosphorus to produce flowers but they also need the other nutrients in a balanced ratio.  Try Miracle Gro Super bloom sometime in the early spring and see if you get more blooms.  I hope this helps.  Good Luck.
