lemon and orange tree disease

Question
I've got a lemon, lime and orange tree which all have the same disease. The leaves will curl and and it looks like a glossy clear trail on the leaves. The fruit will become deformed and uneatable. I've used several sprays- immunox, malathion and several fruit tree sprays and I cannot kill the infestation. I've even cutback the entire growth of the lemon tree to help rid of the disease but the new growth is showing the same disease. Can this be internal in the tree?

Answer
Hi Andy, I think you may have more than one problem going on as my trees all have curled leaves from the leaf minor.  A moth that lays her eggs on the leaf and they make railroad tracks under the leaf and then exit.  As the weather gets colder your leaves will come out clean again.  Then when summer comes it will start all over again.  I am an organic grower and would never put the products you have used on anything that I would eat.  Trimming the leaves back may cause you to loose your fruit.  Nature is not perfect so the best is to learn to live with it and take good care of your trees with water and love.  Your way you will end up with cancer and I am sure you do not want that.  I use Neem Oil 100 percent pure on all my nursery and it does not wash off and protects it till the new leaves come out.  Then and only then would you re apply and only to the new growth.  You could be deforming your fruit also with the products you are using.  Be kind to mother earth.
