orange and lime trees

Question
kathy, last nite I sent a question about my orange tree defoliating and my neighbors key lime tree doing the same even though the branches seem to have good health, ie resiliance at the tips and a healthy green color right at the tip. You answered by saying you had already answered my question earlier. But it must have been someone else because I had never asked it before. Hoping you can see my question from 6-4-09 at about 7:30 pm and find the time to answer it. Thank you, Bruce

Answer
Hi Bruce, sorry about that, guess there are too many orange tree questions that sound the same.  Lost the question, but hope this will help.  If you are loosing leaves more in the center and not the tips, the trees are probably getting ready to start blooming.  They must loose leaves in order to make room for blooms and fruit.  This is the time of year this happens.  Since you are saying good health I have to believe this to be your answer.  If it is not please feel free to email me at my nursery www.crowleynursery.net and go to contact me.  kathy
