Snowball Bush

Question
My friend game me a start of a snowball bush 3 years ago. It was just starting to look beautiful, all in bloom. A tree fell down and smashed some of it. It's like half it's size. What should I do. I really love it!!! I was going to replant it because it's getting so big but now I'm afraid to do anything to it. Please Help!! Thank You....  Pam

Answer
When a plant is damaged, the best thing to do is prune it by shaping it as closely as possible to it's original shape. Make sure to completely remove damaged branches since they are highly susceptible to disease. At that point, leave it for several months and monitor it's health. Most plants will survive and eventually recover fully. You should know by next spring based on how the plant progresses.

Good luck, and write again if you have any other questions.

Regards,

Mike
