Question
My exterior Rain Dial controller is not functioning and the display screen is blank.  There is power to the unit and the fuse appears to be good. Any ideas?

Hey Jim, first thing I would check would be the 9 volt battery. Take the battery out and then power down the unit for about 1 minute, then with the battery "not" installed, power the unit back up and see if you get a display. If you still don't get a display, then check your voltage in the back of the controller at the terminal strip, you will notice two yellow wires marked 24 volts, check and see if you are getting from 22 to 26 volts. If you are not getting a good reading, then you need to replace the transformer. If you are getting a good reading, and you are still not getting a display, then you need to buy a new panel for your unit. Go to any irrigation supply store, and they can help you out.
