Orange tree

Question
Hello ... Can you tell me if it is possible to grow a tree from the fruit off an existing tree,Or is it better to acquire a cutting or go straight for seeds....
Regards ... R.Taylor

Answer
It is always best to propagate with cuttings. With most of today's plants being hybrids, it is highly improbable to replicate a plant from seed harvested directly from the parent plant. You can certainly purchase seeds bred by a grower who specializes in hybrids, but it is a very simple process to take a cutting, remove all but the top set of leaves, and then root the cutting in potting soil. This will guarantee the exact same characteristics including color, taste, and growing habit.

I hope this answered your question. Please write again if I can ever provide assistance.

Regards,

Mike
