orange tree

Question
hello:
i have an orange tree for couple of years, about 2 feet tall right now.
the tree was dying when I first planted but then it came back to life when i move it to another location.
the tree is doing well now, growing shiny green leaves, but doesn't have any fruit. i have another orange tree which is about the same size (i bought them a the same time) and it's producing baby oranges and flower.
what am i doing wrong?
thanks
Min

Answer
Orange Trees - no house is a home without at least one.  Capital idea, Min my friend.

A few things you should know:

1. Not all Orange Trees are made alike.  Your Orange Tree may be too small to flower.  Many don't bloom until they're 5 years old, some take even longer.  Which 'Orange Tree' are you growing?

2. Here in the Northern hemisphere at least it is not Orange blooming season yet.  Wait.

3. Most Orange Trees need a cooling period to initiate bud formation - extended periods where it's colder than 50 degrees F.  Done that yet?  In this weather?

4. If you do get flowers, they will need to be pollinated to produce fruit.  Insects do this very effectively.  When desperate, people can do this, too.

Of course, I may have missed something.  If so, let me know and we'll review this all tomorrow.
