my orange tree

Question
Hi Will, i moved backed to new England in 2005,and purchased one
orange tree, i have transplanted this tree several times.
each time the tree has grown larger [i have trimed the tree several times] last year my tree lost most of the leaves on one side, but in the spring it rebounded well it did fill in most of the area that lost the leaves.

Now the question is can i leave the tree out side [under the over hang on my deck [this faces to the east.
i was thinking about covering the tree with plastic bags.

is this possible or should bring it in for the winter.

i should note the tree has grown to more that 8 ft more that once before trimming it back.

any idea's would be a big help.

Thankyou for your time.

 Dave from connecticut.

Answer
Hi Dave,

Citrus trees can manage a light frost, but not the kind of hard freezes you get in CT. Wrapping it would provide some additional protection, but not enough. Even more importantly, Citrus do not have winter dormant periods. You'll have to move it inside.
