re-potting crepe myrtles from seed pods.

Question
Can I use the seed pods to re-plant the crepe myrtles? I have a fence of them about 4 ft high, they have all dry pods and I wonder if these are seeda that could be used.

Answer
Hi Dora,
Thanx for your question.  Remove the seeds from the dried pods and then plant them about 1/2 inch deep in pots.  They generally germinate in about 30 days so I wouldn't start them now.  Wait until spring about 4 weeks before the last frost.  I hope this helps.
Tom
