Pygmy Palm (robellini)

Question
My palm was hurt by the deep cold spell even though it was covered and I hung a warming light under the cover.  The center of the tree is green, but the edges (about 1 foot) are brown.  Should I trim it or wait it out?

Answer
Hi Doris, you should always leave fronds on a Palm until they are totally brown, for they are still functioning and they need all the help they can get this time of the year, (dry season); if it is a nice full crown, and a frond is impeding in some way, then it can be removed, but if not, wait until its totally brown.
