Pindo Palm

Question
Hi I recently bought a new home there is a Pindo Palm in my yard.  Its not very big maybe about 5ft tall.  I would like to move it to a different location in my yard.  Just wondering if the roots are really big and if it will die if we move it and some moving instructions.  Thanks hope its not to many questions. also attached picture make sure I am calling it by its correct name by the way I live in Florida.

Answer
Hi Ona, also known as a Jelly Palm, it is a real nice specimen, and I would recommend having a experienced landscaper move it, for I think a Bobcat or some other mechanical digger will be needed to properly lift it with all its roots. If you attempt to dig it up with a shovel it will assuredly lose many of its secondary roots and this will lead to a severe decline, if not death. Its too nice a Palm to risk it. Nick
