Question
The trunk is splitting about half way up- 2 finger slits- 1' - 2' length. What do I DO?

Hi Franklin, its a common phenomenon, don't be concerned, the only time its a problem is when it occurs up near the crown where it weakens the crown and a possible collapse can occur. Watch it for insect infestation, other then that, don't be too concerned, just keep an eye on it for possible bracing later on if it expands. Nick
