Fiscus identification, reddening, growing?

Question

Ficus identification
My friend gave me this plant when he moved out of his apartment. I repotted it because the roots were on top of the soil, appeared to need a larger pot. But now I'm wondering if it's too large now. When I got the plant there wasn't any redness of the new growth stems or anything, but now there is. I'm wondering if this is a healthy plant for outside potted minnesota. it's 71 degrees right now, low of 62. and lighting instructions? It was indoors at his place but it was dying due to lack of watering. Can you please help me? Thanks for your time.

Answer
Allison, thats a Jade Plant, not a Ficus, the reddening is caused by direct sunlight, they prefer partial shade in the afternoon; this will not hurt it, but for best color, deep green, it should get afternoon partial shade. You must bring it inside during the Winter, for it will not survive the sever cold.  Begin bringing it in around early September for brief stints, and gradually for longer ones, to acclimate it to its indoor home for the Winter; water  when the soil is dry 2 inches down the soil base, fertilize with a liquid soluble once every month.
