Hi Nick,
I have been paying so much attention to my post-freeze palms that all the sudden I realize I have brown spots on my blueberry flax.  Seems to be contained to certain plants, but appears to be spreading.  Thanks so much for your help.  Your section of the site is great!

Hi Amy, and thank you for the compliment, now to your problem, it sounds (without seeing an image...)like a simple fungal infection, Daconil or any broad spectrum fungicide should take care of it; spray it per label and then again in a week, you will see the results on new leaves, the old ones will remain stained and will probably fall off, its the new ones you need to check.
