Rose with papery leaves

Question
I have a rose that I have babied along for a while. This year its leaves, which were perfectly healthy a couple of days ago, now look "papery". They are dry and thin, and look as if they haven't had enough water, even though we have had a ton of rain this spring. The underside of its only blossom also has brown "papery" spots. Any ideas?

Answer
The transparent looking holes are caused by a bug called Rose Slugs. You can find them if they are still around, under the leaves. Any rose spray for rose slugs will solve the problem if you find the slugs. The other reason could be that you have fertilizer burn. The last thin I can think of is that they are suffering from too much water as this will put the rose under stress and not make healthy green leaves.
