red rose leaves

Question
Two part question....
1.  Roses are planted in sunny area...when they bloom they are beautiful for a day and then they wilt very quickly.  Is it because it is too hot in the later afternoon? It is cooler in the early morning and much warmer in the later day?
2.  Mostly all of the leaves on the rose bushes are nice and green but there are a few that are kind of a reddish color.  Is this something to be concerned about?

Answer
What you are describing is not unusual for newly planted roses as they are still under stress and heat causes more stress for them. However if they were planted over a year ago, then they shouldn't wilt unless the weather suddenly got hotter. Many roses put out deep red , almost a burgundy colour, when they first start to make a new cane or new growth. If most of the new canes are reddish then that will be normal for that rose. It is ono when a cane is a very bright red and has tiny bright red leaves that are small and twitted, that you need to worry about, as that will be a rose disease.
